blogTO vs. Reddit
Correcting years of misinformation, just before the world shut down
At 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 11, 2020, Lauren and I sat at our desks in the blogTO office at 250 University Avenue and started answering questions on Reddit.
We were doing an AMA, short for Ask Me Anything, on r/toronto, the city’s main subreddit. I had arranged it with the moderators in advance. Questions had been accumulating before the start time, and we had gone through them and divided them up. We were excited to participate.
We knew the questions would bring up topics we had long wanted to address, given how much misinformation had been spread about blogTO on Reddit over the years.
But before I get to the Reddit AMA, let me catch you up on where blogTO stood as 2020 began.
